The best stationery stores in Japan Part II

First of all, we would like to thank you for the affection and enthusiasm with which you have welcomed this project and journey together.
And secondly... We are going to give you a brief summary so that you can quickly visualize where and what we are going to do so that we can get down to business.

This time our goal is to take you to special, unique and different stationery stores. In modern times we could call them " indie ". Places where we don't just stop to look at beautiful stationery but do something more; have a coffee, customize our notebooks/journals, etc. In short, spend more time surrounded by a paradise.

READY? LET'S TAKE OFF

BUNBOUGU CAFE

Cafeteria/restaurant for stationery lovers, where we can eat, have a coffee while drawing on our tablecloth with materials and even get ideas and buy the material you liked using on the way out. You can become a member and you will have access to discounts and a key to drawers where they keep special items or limited editions.

YES! We can now take a good look at the dates and get informed... Because they organize events there, workshops collaborating with mangas, animes and we don't want to miss a single one.

KAKIMORI

We can't deny that it's one of our favorites... We couldn't not bring you here while in Tokyo.
It's very spacious and has a more industrial style. And to be honest... We could call it "customizable industry" if the word exists (haha). You can create and personalize everything from your own notebook, with the type of paper and material, to the ink of your pen. Whatever your favorite color is, I assure you it will be there, if they don't make it for you.

Could this place be any cooler?

THINGS 'N' THANKS

We know from experience that you love everything vintage, so here we are. At Things 'N' Thanks you can find real relics and antiques that you can't even imagine. Exclusive vintage collections of pens, clips, fountain pens... I know you're going to go crazy, so relax while you enjoy and look at the whole store, we'll be waiting for you in the cafeteria they have.

WARNING: It's very small, I hope you don't have agoraphobia or claustrophobia and we'll go very early.

One interesting thing about Japanese stores is their opening hours and locations. Before going anywhere, make sure it is open and go with an open mind because each store may have its own opening hours and be in an unknown location. This usually happens in small, niche stores. Department stores or well-known stores usually have fixed hours.

KYUKYODO

Their philosophy is to care for and maintain the essence and tradition of Japan. So as you can deduce, it is a much more traditional style. They have products for Japanese calligraphy, traditional printed papers, engraved stamps and an endless number of wonders that you will love.

Remember we are carrying a suitcase! We can't take half a tent from each .

GEKKō-Sō

I guess you've heard of it before... But just in case, here we go. It's a very small, legendary shop selling original art supplies (the famous hand clip).
It is narrow but you can feel the essence and all the love for tradition and Japanese mastery.
OH! And they also have a small space for exhibitions. I hope we get one and get two for one...

NOTE: It is hidden, it is a basement so we must look and search carefully if we do not want to pass it by. I know us...

HAIBARA

This is over... And we want to end our tour today on a high note. At Haibara you can buy the best quality Japanese washi paper. It's like going to the Louis Vuitton of stationery stores, no more to say.

And that's not just a saying... On the corner of the same sidewalk we'll see the Louis Vuitton store. So let's show off our best suits and buy. I don't know if we'll buy, but we'll look and enjoy ourselves like children.

This is over... And it's time to go home. How did you enjoy it? Lots of temptations in sight? We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did when you went through it together.

Don't be sad... Next month we'll see each other again and we'll see our most beautiful and special stationery stores. Where do you think we'll go this time? Pack your bags, get your hopes up and enjoy the incredible journey we're creating together.
